COMMUNION

THE SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION

As a congregation that values both worship and fellowship, the Lord’s Supper is central to our identity. In Communion we worship God and experience His presence in a special way; yet Communion is also a bringing together of people from all walks of life to enjoy a time of intimate fellowship with each other.

At Saranac Community Church we celebrate an Open Communion. Anyone who has committed his or her life to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and is striving with God’s help to live a holy life, is welcome to partake of the sacrament. We leave it up to parents to decide when their children are spiritually mature enough to participate in the sacrament. For those children not participating, we always encourage them to come forward and receive a blessing from the pastor.

We celebrate communion regularly on the first Sunday of the month, and also at special times and seasons throughout the year.
