Operation Christmas Child Shoebox News
It’s Shoebox time again! 2011 is the 12th year SCC has been involved with this wonderful project, and we have put together 988 shoeboxes over those years to send to children around the world. Samaritan’s Purse collects the full boxes (over 8 Million last year) and distributes them to boys and girls in over 100 countries. This is a tangible way for us to share the love and message of Christ around the world.

Did You Know That...Every church which distributes Shoeboxes to children in their country must:
* Share "The Greatest Gift Ever Given" (Gospel message) with each child
who is given a shoebox, in their own language;
*Offer 10 Bible lessons for each child;
*Provide children who complete all 10 lessons a Bible in their own
language;
*Agree to give shoeboxes to children beyond those in their church.

How do we fill a shoebox? Brochures are available, along with plastic shoebox-sized boxes for a family to take home and fill. A complete list of items is found on the brochures. You may also include a letter and a photo of you and/or your family in each box. Many folks receive communication from those who receive a box. Please include $7.00 to help Samaritan’s Purse with shipping the boxes overseas. You can also follow your box by going to samaritanspurse.org/occ When you make an online donation of seven or more dollars, you can print out a barcode that will be attached to your shoebox.

On Sunday, November 20, we will bring all the boxes forward for a prayer of dedication before we take them to LeValley Church, the drop-off site.
Thank you, SCC Family, for sharing the love of Christ beyond our church walls!
